Can't seem to login
- You enter the correct password but return to login screen
What to doFrom the login screen, at the very bottom right corner click on "quit" and choose "reboot". Allow the computer to restart completely. Try logging in again when the login screen appears.
Can't logout
- A window is taking up the whole screen. You cannot find the icon to logout or any free space to left click and bring up menu.
Solution 1Try moving or removing the window.
- To remove:
- Click on the "X" mark at the very top right of the window. If the window is not frozen this will close both the window and application.
- From the window's file menu at top left chose "Quit", usually at the bottom of menu.
- Type Ctrl - Q, a keyboard shortcut to quit applications.
Solution 2Type Alt-F2 or Alt-F3. This will move you to a new, fresh desktop (what Mac calls spaces) where all icons are visible. This is the best bet if the window is frozen. From here you should be able to logout. Type Alt-F1 to return to original desktop.
